In order to ensure Qatar is ready at a national level for any disasters or crisis’s, robust emergency preparedness plans, spanning not just health but the entire spectrum of government agencies, must be in place. The formation of the National Health Committee for Disaster Management (NHCDM) in 2012, which includes broad representation from Qatar’s health sector, will be used as the decision making forum so Health sector organizations can coordinate emergency preparedness to ensure that Health is at the heart of the nation's disaster management response.
